Theatre

In Roman times there were many theaters because plays were a main form of entertainment, along with gladiators. Theaters were used for religious, humorous, and serious plays. Plays were considered a form of art just like they are today. Theaters themselves were not made for everyone. Mostly people of upper status were at performances, not people of lower class. The people of lower class went to the stadiums and watched the gladiators, but then so did the wealthy. Many people did not like the theaters because they had a sense of war or battle, not for peace and religion. Theaters had all sorts of plays that were entertaining to all ages, even little kids. The theater would have shows that were made for all ages like a play that was about the gods or a play that was humorous. In all, theaters were a main part of entertainment in Rome. They were a learning source for adults and children and were a place to relax and just watch a play. Theaters were a good thing to have around back in the Roman days.
